Thank you for this beautiful piece - so helpful and it's given me so much to think about.

Could I just say though that I see your book quite differently from (future) 'ashes' - surely if it is of help to any of the souls who read it, then they are part of the work you've done? (This is a particularly comforting thought for those of us who don't/can't have children, but hope that the work we do in the world still counts for something...)

Thanks so much for introducing us to Chatbooks! That's such a cool idea and I might follow suit!

Definitely agree on the whole though, from another mom who mostly disconnected from the Internet for Lent :)

Domestic monastery — genius! Loved reading this and nodded my head in agreement throughout!

I'm really into this domestic monastery idea. Spending time with God, considering going back to Mass, using Tarot responsibly, ethically, etc... raising kids well and being in community is all so much more important than playing Bubble Smash. Reading books! Ah. Yes. All of it. Doing it now.

This was so beautifully written and well said. It definitely tugs on my heart as I’ve been feeling lately like I could use a break from the internet so I can be more in the present with my children. Thanks for the reminder about Chatbooks! I need to do that asap! 😍

I am so encouraged to read this. I’ve been feeling more and more lately that time on my phone is just terrible. I miss myself — I want my time and my mind back. I don’t have children, but I love the steps you’re taking to make their lives and yours more present and involved. I’ve really been chewing this over lately. I’m inspired by your ideas and also so thrilled that there are like-minded people out there.

Appreciate reading your thoughts and explorations on such a complex topic. Being plugged in has become so normalized when it is anything but. Our accessibility to the digital world does have a way of disembodying us. How we show up and participate is something I have been mulling over quite a bit.
